This core makes Sanger and Next Generation DNA sequencing support available to researchers so that they do not have to invest the funds and training of personnel to do it themselves. Available support for Sanger sequencing includes an Illumina 3500XL Genetic Analyzer and associated equipment (e.g., centrifuges, thermal cyclers, etc.). This core also provides access to a new Agilent TapeStation 4150 for RNA and DNA quality analyses and a Covaris ME220 for genomics and proteomics applications requiring focused-ultrasonication. Finally, this core has recently added an Illumina NextSeq 2000 to provide next generation DNA/RNA sequencing capabilities that will meet both prokaryotic- and eukaryotic-based needs, as well as a Chromium iX from 10X Genomics for single-cell analyses. Library preparation services are offered to support all next generation sequencing needs. Sequencing data analysis programs and technical expertise are also in place.
