Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering Arkansas State University (A-State)

Dr. Daroonparvar currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Arkansas State University. After earning his Ph.D. from UTM in 2013, he has held various academic and industry roles in the United States, including Postdoctoral Associate and Adjunct Professor at Auburn University, as well as Senior Coating Engineer specializing in thermal and cold spray coatings.

His scholarly contributions include over 100 journal articles, three book chapters, and four conference papers. Since 2020, he has also served on the editorial board of MDPI’s journals Coatings and Materials.

Dr. Daroonparvar’s research interests encompass surface repair and refurbishment, coatings development for lightweight metals using cold spray technology, enhancement of high-temperature oxidation resistance in Ni-based superalloys through advanced thermal barrier coatings, investigation of corrosion initiation and propagation mechanisms in metallic materials, surface electrochemistry using advanced electrochemical techniques, and analysis of processing/post processing-microstructure-property relationships in coatings, additively manufactured (AM), and conventionally processed metallic materials.
